FernUniversität’s Strategy to Build a Virtual University

FernUniversität and other distance teaching institutions in Europe and other regions of the world have served for about 25 years an increasing number of predominantly working professionals and students who have other reasons why they cannot attend classroom events. They search for a second chance at higher education combined with the possibility to study flexibly at the time and location of their choice. They need tailor-made, self-instructional learning materials and flexible tutorial support, which they can access at their time and at the location of their choice.
